The Lanier National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) stands as a beacon of academic excellence, leadership, service, and character development for middle school students across the nation. Rooted in a rich tradition of recognizing and nurturing outstanding young individuals, NJHS serves as a platform where students can showcase their dedication to scholarship, service to their communities, leadership potential, and unwavering commitment to upholding high moral and ethical standards. As members of NJHS, students embark on a journey of personal and collective growth, embracing opportunities to make a positive impact on their school, peers, and broader society through their exemplary actions and contributions.
Important Dates for Current and Incoming NJHS members:
April 11 - interest meeting on Teams
April 17 - NJHS chapter meeting (service hours may be submitted)
April 23 - Service Hours due
April 26 - applications from 7th graders due
May 8 - NJHS Luncheon B lunch in the library
May 10 - INDUCTION ceremony 5-6 in the auditorium
Interest meeting for 2024-2025
Students need to be aware that copies of all 6th and 7th grade report cards will need to be submitted to prove that they meet the NJHS requirement of a 93 grade average. If you do not have a copy, you can request a copy of o your report card from the attendance office or from office A. * Students need to obtain recommendations from one Lanier core teacher and one Lanier elective teacher. * LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
This organization is open to 7th and 8th grade students who maintain a grade point average of 3.7 (93) or above, an E average in conduct, and have evidence of participation in community service projects outside of Lanier. Applications will be accepted for review by the NJHS committee in the Fall for 8th graders and the spring for 7th graders.

The "Meeting Minutes" page contains all the talking points and notes of each NJHS morning meeting, in case you missed it and need to see what was presented. We encourage you to still attend as many meetings as possible, and missing too many can result in removal from NJHS.
